Make-Up Choices Take Care of Our Skin

The skin is the largest organ of our body. With that, it is clear why we should know the importance of skincare. Also, a healthy habit is essential for you to take care of your skin since the skin reflects your overall health. However, there are more complicated things to learn about our skin. It is undoubtedly true that our skin is a fascinating organ yet difficult to understand.

Moreover, our skin changes over time. It also shed its cells every minute. So, that also concludes that our skincare is not something you could do then and now. It is something we should take care of on a daily basis. With that being said, it is worth remembering that healthy, beautiful, and clear skin starts with a good habit.

Aside from eating fruits and veggies or blending healthy fruit juice recipes, it is also essential that we know what goes through our skin and how it affects our skin.

1. Have regular treatment from a skincare professional

Home skincare products are essential to keep the skin beautiful and healthy. However, some home skincare does not always give you the best result you want. So, it is during this time that you seek professional help. As the skin ages, metabolism and circulation slow down. As these abilities degrade, it resulted in dull and tired-looking skin. But fear no more. Skincare experts can help you with that. Skincare treatments do not only make your skin glow, but it also improves circulation that results in healthier-looking skin. Additionally, there are some deep skincare cleansings that could help you to unclogged pores.

2. Choose the products that are recommended for your skin type

One of the benefits of visiting a skincare expert is that you can consult what products are gentle for your skin type. Every type of skin reacts differently to each ingredient. It is also the reason why you should know if you have normal, dry, oily, or sensitive skin.

One important thing to note is that there is no one-size-fits-all product. A product that a celebrity or a vlogger endorses don’t necessarily mean that the same product would work for your skin. Some products may not suit your skin type. That is why, in most cases, some products do not show any improvement to your skin.

3. Avoid products that have the following ingredients:

  • Synthetic Fragrance: According to dermatologists, the synthetic fragrance is the number one cause of allergic reactions. So, you better watch out for those make-up products that have ‘parfum,’ ‘perfume,’ or ‘fragrance’ on the ingredients list.
  • Isopropyl Palmitate and Isopropyl Myristate: These ingredients can cause blackheads, so better watch out of these ingredients, too.
  • Shell Powders and Walnut Husks: Products that contain such ingredients are usually the cause of skin irritation that causes the bacteria to spread. Such ingredients can be found mostly on facial scrubs.

4. Always Put a Sunscreen

In choosing a cosmetic product, always choose those that have an SPF. According to studies, 78% of sun exposure is incidental exposure. Although you are not out during the day or not in direct sun exposure, it is still essential to wear sun protection such as sunscreen or products that have SPF to avoid the harmful UVA rays. The UVA rays are proven to cause wrinkles and aging to the skin. So, next time, make sure to grab and apply sunscreen or product with SPF 30 every day.

5. Avoid Cleansing Wipes

Over the past few years, cleansing wipes have been our go-to for an easy and quick way to remove make-up. With cleansing wipes, you simply wipe and go. Although they are convenient, they are not the best choice for your skin. Why? It is because instead of wiping the dirt off your face, cleansing wipes smear dirt, make-up residue, and oils across the skin. Remember that cleansing agents work to break down debris. However, the thing that actually removes the dirt from your face is the rinsing action from the water. It is only after that you can wipe your skin with a washcloth or a facial sponge.
