What Products are Available in the JUARA Product Line

Three ladies, Metta Murdaya, Yoshiko Roth-Hidalgo, and Jill Sung, founded the JUARA Skincare line of botanically based skin care products with the goal of fusing Eastern and Western skincare traditions to develop a product that would bring out the best in both. The founders of the product line believed that JUARA, which translates from the Indonesian language to “champion,” was a suitable name to champion women’s natural beauty.

JUARA’s products are all natural, vegan, and have never undergone animal testing because they are a natural product line. All of their products are paraben-free and free of phthalates, sulfates, and synthetic dyes. Their products are accessible to help, no matter what skin type you have or what skin issue you have. The majority of the products they offer are ideal for sensitive skin, rough skin, breakouts, sun-damaged or aging skin, sensitive skin, and even if you’re just searching for preventative measures for your skin, they have something for you.

Meet The Founders

JUARA began as an experiment by three friends in a little apartment in New York City, looking for a method to feel better in their daily lives, and is today a globally recognized brand.

Metta Murdaya

Indonesian-born Metta Murdaya was raised in Jakarta, San Francisco, and New York City. She is a global citizen who, as a result of burnout from a high-achievement lifestyle in her youth, decided to launch a skincare line based on her family’s tradition of holistic healing and self-care. She discovered an easy method to achieve this in her backyard by indulging in the Indonesian practice of jamu. She believed that finding ways to keep a balanced and joyful lifestyle is a better life approach to sustaining physical and mental health than waiting till total exhaustion.

Metta is a wellness expert, a Jamu educator, and the author of “Jamu Lifestyle.” Metta is passionate about taking her heritage and introducing the world to its fun-yet-powerful health tradition.

Yoshiko Roth-Hidalgo

Yoshiko Roth-Hidalgo is a nutrition expert and a lifelong product junkie. Her father, a scientist, inspired her passion for developing healthy, effective skincare. In all formulations, she believes enjoyment to be just as crucial as effectiveness.

Jill Sung

Jill Sung, a physician with a Harvard education who practices clean eating, has served as the Yang to Metta’s knowledge of Indonesian ingredients with her foundation in western science.

The Jamu Way of Life

Jamu is a centuries-old Indonesian health tradition that fuses combinations of roots, plants, and fruits to make tonics for drinking and skin-improving beauty rituals to preserve both internal and external health. These secret recipes were first cooked and served by healers and relatives, and the custom has persisted ever since.

In the book JAMU LIFESTYLE: INDONESIAN HERBAL WELLNESS TRADITION by Metta Murdaya, Co-Founder of JUARA, she imparts the knowledge of this age-old custom to a world that now more than ever needs it. Indonesians have employed jamu, a herbal remedy and wellness practice, for generations to maintain a healthy body, mind, and soul.

Indonesians have employed jamu, a herbal remedy and wellness practice, for generations to maintain a healthy body, mind, and soul.  It consists of a tonic called “jamu,” a herbal-infused food, and dietary supplements.

The best part is that in the jamu culture, happiness, involvement in the community, and beauty are seen as being crucial to wellness. As a result, self-care activities such as sensory engagement, community involvement, and beauty rituals should all be frequently practiced rather than seen as occasional luxury.

JUARA’s Key Ingredients

JUARA was created from ancient Jamu recipes that use natural ingredients that are safe for all skin types and are being increasingly verified by Western research. JUARA Skincare is built on beauty routines that were adapted from old Indonesian traditions.

  • Candlenut: Because of the exceptionally high oil content within, candlenuts were previously burned using a leaf wick inserted through the middle of the tree nut and used as candles. This is how candlenut oil, also known as kukui nut oil, got its name. One of the best and most elegant plant oils is this one, according to many people.
  • Coconut: Coconut is a key component of Indonesian culture and beauty practices. In addition to its delectable meat, coconut oil is a valuable anti-aging remedy due to its abundance in good fats and vitamins E and A. It slows down aging while keeping skin supple and smooth. Coconut oil is the oil of choice for skin problems since it contains a lot of lauric acid, which has natural antimicrobial properties.
  • Rice: The outer hull, or “bran,” of the rice grain is used to make rice bran oil. Rice bran oil has been used for generations in Asia to cure dry skin, improve skin health, and preserve a youthful look because it is rich in the antioxidants Tocopherol, Oryzanol, and Tocotrienol, which are part of the Vitamin-E group.
  • Illipe Butter: From the seeds of the magnificent Illipe tree in the Borneo forest in the South Pacific, this extraordinarily rich, creamy butter is produced. It is adored in particular for its long-lasting moisturizing qualities because of its high melting point.
  • Coffee: Coffee has always been a significant part of Indonesian cuisine due to its invigorating aroma and stimulating qualities (Indonesia is the largest coffee producer in the Asia-pacific region). Freshly ground coffee beans are frequently used in body treatments because of their ability to exfoliate the skin, but recent study indicates that caffeine also has potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects when applied topically.
  • Ginger: Ginger, the main component of the well-known “Wedang Jahe,” is a prominent culinary ingredient used to aid in digestion as well as a frequent beauty ingredient used to energize and reinvigorate the skin. In Indonesia, ginger is highly regarded for its cleansing, warming, and relaxing properties and has been utilized for ages in the Jamu tradition.
  • Avocado: Avocado is a fruit that has been used in traditional Indonesian beauty rituals to nourish skin and hair as well as to brighten, soften, and increase their resiliency. It is a fantastic source of enrichment for chapped, damaged, or dry skin when applied topically.
  • Tamarind: The entire fruit and leaves of the tamarind, which has powerful Vitamin C properties, are employed in traditional Jamu treatments and cuisines. Tamarind seed extract has been shown to improve skin smoothness, moisture, and the skin’s ability to regenerate.
  • Triple Tea Extract: With its skin-soothing and organic antibacterial properties, this potent trio of Green, White, and Black Teas benefits all skin types, especially troubled and sensitive skin.
  • Turmeric: Turmeric, a member of the ginger family, is renowned for its potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, making it one of the most potent nutritional supplements available. This practice of applying turmeric topically to treat a variety of skin conditions such dermatitis, acne, and photoaging is supported by research.
  • Fermented Sweet Black Tea: This unusual substance was first used in Asia as a longevity drink, and it is highly regarded for enhancing health and vitality. Clinical studies show that it improves general skin radiance and shine, minimizes flaws, and softens and smoothens skin.
  • Cinnamon: Since ancient times, people have cherished cinnamon for both its numerous health advantages and its pleasant sweet-spicy flavor. Cinnamon has been proved to benefit oily, acne-prone skin thanks to its natural anti-bacterial and purifying properties.
  • Clove Flower: The unopened flower bud of the clove tree, which originated in the Spice Islands, is known as a clove. By preventing the production of melanin in the skin, the clove flower has long been used in Boreh Spa treatments to brighten and even out skin tone.
